People of the Day

With Spring right around the corner, comes Daylight Savings Time.  We all know this practice was instituted to allow for changes in sunrise and sunset times, helping us accommodate our “daytime” activities so that we enjoy more light for a longer portion of the day. Basically, this means our days are longer so we can do more!

It reminded me of a story in the ninth chapter of the book of John.  Jesus  passes a blind man and takes opportunity to heal and teach His disciples as well.  When asked about why this man was born blind, Jesus responds by saying that the man was not blind through the sin of his parents or because of his own sin, but rather that God should be glorified.  He then follows up with a loaded statement  in verse 4, “I must work the works of Him Who sent me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.”
