Dennis Spire
Pastor
Calvary has been blessed to have Dennis Spire and his wife Brenda faithfully leading our congregation since 1990. Dennis and Brenda have three children, all grown, and three granddaughters. Dennis holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Howard Payne and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dennis and Brenda both have been involved in community ministries in San Marcos including Central Texas Lifecare (now TruChoice), and both have served in ministering to inmates at Hays County Jail, with Brenda serving as Chaplain for a number of years. Of his time at CBC, Pastor Dennis says, "We're a church filled with very real, ordinary people, on mission doing extraordinary things for the building of God's kingdom. With God's grace, we will accomplish great things and I truly believe Calvary's best days are ahead of us yet!"
Rosanna Haddock
Music & Media
Rosanna has served at Calvary in a variety of ways since 2004. She was previously in education as a classroom teacher specializing in special needs. Currently, she directs the worship arts ministry, oversees publications, and whatever else crosses her desk. In thinking about her current role as music minister she says, "I suppose it was heading for me for a long time. I learned how to read music before I would even read my first word book. I've always served somewhere in church." Her thoughts on worship arts are, "Celebrating God's love for us through music and as an expression of worship is something we will do into eternity, so it's good practice to make it a lifestyle now. I believe music is God's universal language and it's one of our most valuable gifts."
Sarah Trumbull
Children's Minister
A San Marcos native, Sarah grew up attending Calvary with her family. She was called into her current role on staff in 2019, and since then has been building up our children's ministry to provide training opportunities for her leadership team and also to include kids programs such as Bible Skills & Drills, Sunday night Explore the Bible time, camping trips, outings, and service projects. Some premiere children's events include our Vacation Bible School, which we do "big" at CBC, and a summer Upward Basketball Camp. One of her favorite quotes is from Charles H. Spurgeon's Feed My Lambs sermon: "The best of the church are none too good for this work...stand ready to help the little ones and to cheer those whose chief calling is to attend to them."
Randy Hall
Student Minister
Randy comes to us from Corpus Christi, having served there in a number of capacities and owning and operating a couple of different business ventures. He is a Texas native and says, "Just like most Texans, my team is the Philadelphia Eagles." Randy is married to Taylor and they have three beautiful children. He is currently working on a ministry degree at Stark Seminary. Of his service opportunity at Calvary he says, "I have a passion to serve others and lead them to the Lord Jesus Christ. I am beyond blessed and honored to be ministering to the students and their families in the Hill Country of Texas. Glory to God!"
SAmantha Aubert
Church Secretary
Samantha came on board CBC's office staff in 2023 and has already made herself an invaluable asset to our office administration with her creativity and professionalism. She is married to Dan and has two children, Harley and Jamey. As a family the Auberts are active in our church life in variety of ministry areas. About working at Calvary, Samantha says, "It's great to work with and be surrounded by such positive people in a Christian environment."
