Mission
The mission of Calvary Baptist Church has the same mission Jesus gave His followers: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Our simplified mission states "Calvary Baptist Church exists to glorify God."
Our "5G" Life Commitments
Our life commitments reflect our values. These values influence the regular function of the Body of Christ and are explained below. We made them alliterative to remember easily and they just happen to rhyme...that's fun.
Gather
We GATHER regularly in corporate worship times, for special observances and events, holiday services, and fellowships. We also gather regularly to pray. This can happen in small groups or in large corporate gatherings where a special prayer meeting is called. We follow the model of the Church as described in Acts 2 where we see the early believers "were together and had all things in common."
Give
We GIVE in three main areas: our time, our talents, our treasure. We give our time in service, in attendance, in support and care of others in the Body. We give our talents in ministry areas using our natural or developed talents and our spiritual gifts for teaching, exhorting, serving, administrating, caring, just to name a few areas. We give our treasure in tithing to the work of the church, in offerings for various ministries as the Lord leads, and in giving to others in need in our Body and in the community around us.
GROW
We GROW by study and by practice and some of the best ways for
the Body of Christ to grow is in small group Bible study settings. Some of these include Sunday School Classes, Small Group Bible Studies in homes,
our Sunday Night Discipleship Classes, Wednesday night Prayer & Study.

GO
We GO as commanded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as He commissioned the disciples just before He ascended back to the Father. Matthew 28:19-20 is where Jesus told the Twelve, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you..." Our sphere is local, regional, statewide, nationwide, and international. Where we cannot physically go, we provide support for missionaries that have been called to all of these places and in so doing, expand the Kingdom of God.
all to the GLORY of God
The Westminster Catechism states, “It is the chief end of man to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.” We believe the “forever” part of this mission statement begins here, in this life. The moment we enter into a covenant relationship with God through the sacrifice of the Son Jesus, we commit to live our lives in a manner worthy of His sacrifice. We live our lives for the glory of God, to honor Him, to share Him with others and as we become more like Him, we give our lives away to the world around us.
