Dennis Spire began serving as pastor of Calvary Baptist on January 16, 1990.  Before coming to Calvary he served in other pastorates, including youth and music positions.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Religious Education from Howard Payne University in the Spring of 1978. Dennis went on to earn his Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Dennis and his wife Brenda have three adult kids: Matt, Mark, and Kim, and three granddaughters, Ellie, Harper, and Mae. Brenda currently serves as Chaplain on staff at the Hays County Jail. Of his 29 years ministering at Calvary Baptist Church, Dennis says, “We’re a church filled with very real, ordinary people, on mission to accomplish extraordinary things for the Kingdom of God. We’ve had many years of ups and downs, victories and defeats here at CBC, but I know the best days are still ahead for this church body.”

Hobbies: Woodworking, Working on/restoring old cars, and Occasional fishing
