Impact Weekend is our premiere local Youth Event for the year. Students are challenged to go further, deeper and higher in their relationship with God through this concentrated weekend of study, discussion and worship. It is much like a retreat weekend, but it takes place right here in San Marcos. The youth gather at the church on Friday evening for a meal and a time of worship. Then all students go in school grade groups to a host home provided by members of our church or the church they are attending with. At the homes, a college leader will lead them in games and devotional times. They youth will return for worship and fellowship at the church on Saturday morning and evening. There is an exciting time of recreation for everyone as well. This is not a weekend you want to miss.
The theme this year is “Fight the Good Fight” taken from 1 Timothy 6:12. We will learn what it means to fight for our faith and to walk with the Lord through times of adversity. There will also be an emphasis on what it means to fight for the salvation of lost friends and family members and how to win the battle through prayer and the proclamation of the gospel. Our speaker will be Chris Selby from Bentonville, AR. He leads the youth pastor coaching network for the SBTC and is a travelling evangelist. He has worked with Dare2Share Ministries as well. Our worship leader is Aaron Harper. Aaron is minister of students and worship at Prairie Lea Baptist Church. This will be a weekend you do not want to miss. If you are wanting some ideas about the weekend please watch the 2019 video.
